Our Story

Kibbutz Dorot was established in 1941 and has been growing a variety of fruits and vegetables there ever since, one of its main crops being carrots! As the years went on, the farm expanded and thrived. Two of the early pioneers of the Kibbutz and contributors to its growth were Menecham (Nachik) Ben-Dror and Hana Ben-Dror, parents of Ami Ben-Dror.
our story 4
Since Ami was born into an agricultural family and was raised in such an environment, his passion for working in the fields and harvesting crops as a child came as no surprise. He had, and still has, a strong connection with nature and the fields. As a kid, Ami spent hours both playing and working in the fields. He was constantly learning from his elders the importance of the farm and how to take care of it. Dorot Farm was a home to him and it was always a place that was near and dear to his heart. Therefore, after growing up and traveling the world, Ami came back to the farm and helped realize the vision of exporting agricultural products around the world.

He began as one of the founders and visionaries of Dorot Gardens, taking garlic production and turning it into an industry. This experience led him to create and develop the Dorot Farm brand.

In 2004, Ami realized the aforementioned vision and was the 1st to export carrots out of Israel to North America. He and his family moved to the United States to develop the brand as well as enter the American market. Ami now serves as CEO and founder of BDA/Dorot Farm, growing and shipping fresh & sweet carrots worldwide. Nowadays, this global brand is known as the #1 Carrot Growers Group, partnering with packing houses all over the world.
